Today’s Date on the Gregorian Calendar is as follows: 8th August 2017 = 08/08/17 = 8/8/17
As can we see, the “number 8” appears twice today. It is important to recognise SEASONS and KEY IN.
NUMBERS ARE IMPORTANT TO YAH (GOD) so very much, otherwise HE would not have created them. When HE created our DAYS, WEEKS, MONTHS and YEARS, YAH numbered them. YAH’S original Calendar as seen in Genesis 1-2 and Exodus 12:1 as well as other HOLY SCRIPTURES was named with NUMBERS (not names as we have today).
What does Number 8 Signify in YAH’S Records?
8 = NEW BIRTH / NEW BEGINNINGS
Going back to Hebrew, the LANGUAGE OF CREATION, ORIGINAL LANGUAGE OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES and YAH’S (GOD’S) Beloved Language, we note that the 8th Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is “CHET”. What is it symbolic of?
The Letter “”CHET” is the eighth letter of the ALEPH-BET having the numeric value 8. The pictograph for “CHET” looks like a WALL or a FENCE whereas the Classic Hebrew script is constructed of the PRECEDING TWO LETTERS, “VAV” and “ZAYIN” joined at the top with a thin connecting line.
“CHET” is the Letter of LIFE since the words, CHAI (LIFE) and CHAYAH (LIVING) both begin with this letter. True life comes from CHASIDUT (DEVOTION).
“CHET” is also the Number of GRACE (CHEN) and the Number of WISDOM (CHOKMAH).
Since “VAV” represents PEOPLE and OTHERS, and “ZAYIN” represents TIME, “CHET” is a picture of SPENDING TIME IN COMMUNITY (CHAVURAH).
“CHET” and the Doorway to Life:
The Hebrew word “CHAI” comes from the Hebrew Letter “CHET”. The word “CHAI means LIFE. The word “CHAI” is short for “CHAYIM” (life) and the letter “CHET” is seen to resemble a DOORWAY, where the BLOOD OF THE LAMB was daubed during the PASSOVER FESTIVAL as seen in Exodus 12:7.
There are many necklaces that spell the Hebrew word “CHAI”. In fact, the word itself resembles the LAMB. From this we can say that THE LAMB GIVES LIFE when applied to the DOORWAY OF OUR HEART!

“CHET” is the Letter of DISCIPLESHIP TO YAHUSHUA (JESUS/YESHUA):
Note that the “VAV” represents MAN and the “ZAYIN” represent THE CROWNED MAN who wields the SWORD OF RUACH HA KODESH (HOLY SPIRIT) (i.e. YAHUSHUA, King of the Jews), we can see that “CHET” is a PICTURE of DISCIPLESHIP TO YAHUSHUA.
Since “CHET” is formed from “VAV” and “ZAYIN” connected by a YOKE, we can see that this pictures our relationship with YAHUSHUA as HE leads and teaches us on the PATH OF LIFE.
A YOKE is a CONNECTION between two things so that they can MOVE AND WORK TOGETHER. Since the sum of the letters “VAV” and “ZAYIN” equals THE VALUE OF LOVE, we can see that the essential nature of this “MOVING AND WORKING TOGETHER” is that of LOVING YAH (GOD) and one another just as Mashiach YAHUSHUA loves us.
Number 8 BIBLICAL EVENTS:
- Brit Millah, the COVENANT OF CIRCUMCISION occurs on the 8th day after birth of a boy’s life thereby marking a NEW BEGINNING OF HIS LIFE.
- There were 8 people save from the GREAT FLOOD OF THE EARTH during Noah’s time as seen in Genesis.
- ABBA YAHUVEH/YAHWEH GOD confirmed HIS COVENANT with Abraham 8 times.
- King David was the 8th son of Jesse.
- YAH’S (GOD’S) FEAST OF SUKKOT a.k.a FEAST OF TABERNACLES / BOOTHS is an 8-DAY FESTIVAL that anticipates the WORLD TO COME (marking NEW BEGINNING – new earth and new heavens -Revelation 21).

In Psalm 8:4-8, we see a COVENANT being made BETWEEN YAH AND MAN as seen in Genesis 2. YAH gives man DOMINION over everything HE created.
In conclusion, the SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF today is that TODAY 8/8/17 is a COVENANT DAY FOR NEW BIRTH & NEW BEGINNINGS WITH YAH!
