A model of the largest Ark of the Covenant, the largest such model in the world, donated to the residents of Jerusalem, was demolished by vandals Thursday morning.

One person has been arrested in connection with the incident.

The building and setting up of the model of the Ark of the Covenant was conceived, constructed, and donated to the residents of the city of Jerusalem by Filipina businesswoman Grace Gupana, a resident of the Philippines and a lover of Israel. The Ark, she said, was created for all believers of all faiths, especially the residents of Jerusalem and the State of Israel, in the hope that the Ark would serve as a powerful testimony against those who do not believe in the Bible.

Gupana said that the model of the Ark of the Covenant was first unveiled in Jerusalem during the Jerusalem Day March in 2013.

She said that she was “shocked, pained and saddened about the vandalism and destruction of the Ark model,” and that “the punishment of those who destroyed the model of the Ark of the Covenant will come from God.”

She added that the city of Jerusalem is a place of worship for the three Monotheistic religions, and that while Israel has undertaken to provide complete freedom of worship, there are those who do not allow that to happen.

“My pain and sorrow are very great today, and the Jewish people, on the day of the giving of the Torah, must respect the believers of all religions,” she said.

The model Ark was placed on a square in front of the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem on the eve of the Shavuot holiday Tuesday. It was draped in an Israeli flag.

The model weighs 1,760 pounds. It is 10 feet tall, 16 feet long, and 5 feet wide. It took 12 artists and professionals four months to build, and its construction was estimated to have cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Grace Gupana, 55 has ten records in the Guinness Book of Wold Records, including the largest ever national flag. She is a well-known Israel supporter and is descended from an ancient Spanish Jewish family, and currently lives in the Philippines. She owns an apartment in Jerusalem and visits Israel regularly.

NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 22 – It was an extra-ordinary Sunday Service at the Apostles of Jesus Shrine in Karen, as at first, the usual order of events had to be shortened to give time to an extra-ordinary session.

I could bet President Uhuru Kenyatta who was in attendance could not predict the dramatic events that saw him handed over a replica of the Ark of the Covenant that is said bring ‘good tidings’ to the country which has lately been undergoing challenging times.

Kenya’s ambassador to Israel Lt. Gen (rtd) Augustino Njoroge was the man who was at the forefront of ensuring the structure arrived and was in good state, and he could not hide his joy.

“It is an accomplishment, I am very happy. I got it in 2013 and it has taken this much time to be consecrated here – for me it is a relief that we have celebrated the presence of God in his country,” he said.

This particular structure said to be the largest among six others in existence, were made by Sister Grace Galindez-Gupana, a Philippine born Jerusalem prophetess who says was inspired by the Lord’s voice to make the replica’s for each continent.

Sister Grace said she had come with a message and a spiritual gift for the people and that, “today, the Jubilee land was receiving the Horn of the Ram.”

“Any accusations and any words of killing are now gone because we will restore your land,” she said, amid cheers and ululations from the congregation.

Njoroge said the consecration of the Ark signified a new beginning for Kenya which would now be shielded from ‘evil’ and there was now a reason to be hopeful.

He added that this coinciding with the anticipated visit by Pope Francis went a long way into showing how favoured the country was and hence called on Kenyans to form a united front to confront the challenges facing the country.

President Uhuru Kenyatta noted the significance of the structure, describing it as a “symbol of peace and reconciliation” for the country.

The Bible in Exodus 40: 36-38 describes the Ark as a kind of chest made of acacia wood and was stored in the Holy of Hollies in the tabernacle.

“The top of the chest were two carved cherubim facing each other and covered in gold with their wings spread out so that they touched. The cover of the Ark where the cherubim sat was called the ‘seat of mercy’ and made of pure gold. Between the Cherubim, God showed his glory,” read the Shrines’ bulletin.

During the handover to president Uhuru Kenyatta, Sister Grace said the story of the people of Israel who built the Ark after their Exodus from Egypt was the same story for Kenya, as the ark was a constant reminder of God’s presence.

The Ark will remain in the custody of the Apostles of Jesus Shrine and Kenyans are free to visit, have a look and even present their prayer petitions.

A building-sized edifice carved with the Bible’s Ten Commandments was unveiled Wednesday in the Philippines, making it the largest tablet of its kind, according to Guinness World Records.
The world’s largest tablet of the ten commandments supposedly handed down by God to Moses on Mount Sinai was inaugurated by city officials on a hill overlooking the northern Philippines resort city of Baguio.
A local religious group, donated the imposing 152.90 square meter (1,650 square foot) tablet to the city as they were presented a certificate from Guinness World Records. “This beautiful and divine edifice will serve to drive away the evils of spirits that time and again emerge,” said Baguio Congressman Bernardo Vergara at the inauguration.

“May it drive away evils of illegal drugs, gambling, prostitution.”
The religious leader who sponsored the project, Grace Galindez-Gupana, topped her previous world record, attained in 2009 when she built a similar 65-square-metre tablet on a hill outside Manila.
