Joel 2:28-30 Names of God Bible (NOG)

THE LORD WILL POUR HIS SPIRIT ON ALL PEOPLE

28 “After this, I will pour my Ruach on everyone.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy.
Your old men will dream dreams.
Your young men will see visions.
29 In those days I will pour my Ruach on servants,
    on both men and women.
30 I will work miracles in the sky and on the earth:
blood, fire, and clouds of smoke.

In terms of the Gift of Prophecy, there is the OFFICE OF A PROPHET / WATCHMEN and the GIFT OF PROPHECY in a different way.

Some people are called to be PROPHETS / WATCHMEN whereas others just speak a PROPHETIC WORD every now and again. The RUACH HA KODESH (HOLY SPIRIT) can move people to prophesy once in a while. This does not necessarily mean that they are YAH’S Called Prophets. They just have the gift to be used as and when appropriate.

Those that are called to be YAH’S True Prophets / Watchmen will know as YAH will make it very clear to them in their WALK OF FAITH WITH YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH. Theirs is a tough calling.

There are many false prophets and they need to be discerned with the help of the RUACH HA KODESH constantly.

2 Peter 1:20-21 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

20 First of all, understand this: no prophecy of Scripture is to be interpreted by an individual on his own; 21 for never has a prophecy come as a result of human willing — on the contrary, people moved by the Ruach HaKodesh spoke a message from God.

Acts 3:18 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

18 But this is how God fulfilled what he had announced in advance, when he spoke through all the prophets, namely, that his Messiah was to die.

Amos 3:7 Names of God Bible (NOG)

THE LORD WILL PUNISH ISRAEL FOR ITS IMMORAL BEHAVIOUR

Certainly, Adonay Yahweh doesn’t do anything
unless he first reveals his secret to his servants the prophets.

Ezekiel 33:1-9 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

EZEKIEL IS CALLED TO BE A WATCHMAN

33 The word of Adonai came to me: “Human being, speak to your people; say to them, ‘Suppose I bring the sword on a country, and the people of that country take one of their men and appoint him their watchman. Now if, upon seeing the sword coming against that country, he blows the shofar and warns the people; then, if the sword comes and takes away someone who heard the sound of the shofar but paid no attention to it, the responsibility for that person’s death will be his own — he heard the shofar but paid no attention, so the responsibility for his death is his own; whereas if he had paid attention, he would have saved his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the shofar, so that the people are not warned; and then the sword comes and takes any one of them, that one is indeed taken away in his guilt, but I will hold the watchman responsible for his death.’

“Likewise you, human being — I have appointed you as watchman for the house of Isra’el. Therefore, when you hear the word from my mouth, warn them for me. When I tell the wicked person, ‘Wicked person, you will certainly die’; and you fail to speak and warn the wicked person to leave his way; then that wicked person will die guilty; and I will hold you responsible for his death. On the other hand, if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he doesn’t turn from his way; then he will still die guilty, but you will have saved your own life.

PROPHECY is defined as follows:

prophecy is a message inspired by YAH, a divine revelation and a spiritual gift and/or office from YAH.

The Bible says that prophets “spoke from God as they were moved by holy spirit.” (2 Peter 1:20,21). So a prophet is one who receives God’s message and transmits it to others.—Acts 3:18.

When YAH (GOD) speaks, Prophetic Words that HE would like shared with HIS people, they will be uploaded here under the respective sub-menu. Remember, GOD really loves HIS people. HE will always speak in order to Redeem HIS people as shown throughout the OLD and NEW TESTAMENT!

YAH used and uses several methods to transmit his thoughts to his prophets:

  • Direct Speech.  YAH used this method in at least one case by directly supplying to Moses the Ten Commandments in written form.—Exodus 31:18.

  • Writing. YAH used this method in at least one case by directly supplying to Moses the Ten Commandments in written form.—Exodus 31:18.

  • Oral communication through angels. For example, YAH used an angel to instruct Moses about the message he was to deliver to Pharaoh of Egypt. (Exodus 3:2-4, 10) When precise wording was crucial, YAH directed angels to dictate his message, as he did when he told Moses: “Write down these words, because in accordance with these words, I am making a covenant with you and with Israel.”—Exodus 34:27. *

  • Dreams and Visions. These were sometimes given while the Prophet was awake and fully conscious. (Isaiah 1:1; Habakkuk 1:1) Some were so vivid that the recipient participated in them. (Luke 9:28-36; Revelation 1:10-17) At other times, visions were conveyed while the recipient was in a trance. (Acts 10:10, 11; 22:17-21) YAH also transmitted his message by dreams while the prophet slept.—Daniel 7:1; Acts 16:9, 10.

  • Mental guidance. YAH guided the thoughts of his Prophets to convey his message. This is the sense of the Bible’s statement: “All Scripture is inspired of YAH.” The phrase “inspired of YAH” can also be rendered “YAH-breathed.” (2 Timothy 3:16The Emphasised Bible) God used his holy spirit, or active force, to “breathe” his ideas into the minds of his servants. The message was YAH’S, but the prophet selected the wording.—2 Samuel 23:1, 2.

Does prophecy always involve foretelling the future?

No, Bible prophecy is not limited to foretelling the future. However, most messages from YAH relate to the future, even if only indirectly. For example, YAH’S prophets repeatedly warned the ancient Israelites about their evil ways. Those warnings described the future blessings if the people would heed the warning, as well as the future calamity if they refused. (Jeremiah 25:4-6) The actual outcome depended on the course that the Israelites chose to follow.—Deuteronomy 30:19, 20.

Examples of Bible prophecies not involving predictions

  • On one occasion when the Israelites asked YAH for help, he sent a prophet to explain that because they had refused to obey God’s commands, He had not helped them.—Judges 6:6-10.

  • When Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman, he revealed things about her past that he could have known only by divine revelation. She recognized him as a prophet even though he had made no predictions about the future.—John 4:17-19.

  • At Jesus’ trial, his enemies covered his face, hit him, and then said: “Prophesy! Who is it that struck you?” They were not calling for Jesus to foretell the future but for him to identify by divine power who had hit him.—Luke 22:63, 64.

YAH Speaks Through His Prophets

Prophets / Watchmen are appointed by YAHUVEH / YAHWEH to deliver messages regarding judgment, pure worship, and the Messianic hope.

DURING the period of the kings of Israel and Judah, a special group of men came to the fore—the PROPHETS / WATCHMEN. These were men of extraordinary faith and courage who delivered God’s pronouncements. Consider four important themes developed by YAH’S PROPHETS.

1. The destruction of Jerusalem. Long in advance, YAH’S Prophets / WATCHMEN—Isaiah and Jeremiah in particular—began warning that Jerusalem would be destroyed and abandoned. In vivid terms, they revealed why the city had incurred YAH’Ss anger. Her claim to represent YAHUVEH / YAHWEH was belied by false religious practices, corruption, and violence.—2 Kings 21:10-15;Isaiah 3:1-8, 16-26; Jeremiah 2:1–3:13.

2. The restoration of pure worship. After 70 years in exile, YAH’S people would be freed from Babylon. They would return to their desolate homeland and rebuild the temple of YAHUVEH / YAHWEH in Jerusalem. (Jeremiah 46:27; Amos 9:13-15) About 200 years in advance, Isaiah foretold the name of the conqueror—Cyrus—who would defeat Babylon and allow God’s people to restore pure worship. Isaiah even detailed Cyrus’ unique battle strategy.—Isaiah 44:24–45:3.

The Jewish exiles leave Babylon and return to Jerusalem

3. The Messiah’s arrival and his experiences. The Messiah would be born in the town of Bethlehem. (Micah 5:2) He would be humble, presenting himself in Jerusalem, riding upon an ass. (Zechariah 9:9) Though gentle and kind, he would be unpopular, and many would reject him. (Isaiah 42:1-3; 53:1, 3) He would experience a cruel death. Would his life then be over for all time? No, for his sacrifice was to make possible the forgiveness of sins for many. (Isaiah 53:4, 5, 9-12) Only his resurrection could accomplish that.

4. The reign of the Messiah over the earth. Imperfect humans are really unable to govern themselves peacefully, but the Messianic King would be called Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6, 7; Jeremiah 10:23) Under his rule, all humans would be at peace with one another and even with all the animal creation. (Isaiah 11:3-7) Sickness would vanish. (Isaiah 33:24) Even death would be swallowed up forever. (Isaiah 25:8) During the Messiah’s reign, people who had died would be resurrected to life on earth.—Daniel 12:13.

Based on the books of Isaiah,Jeremiah,Daniel,Amos,Micah, and Zechariah.

  • What kind of messages did God’s prophets deliver?

  • How did the prophets foretell the destruction of Jerusalem and its restoration?

  • What did Jehovah’s prophets say about the Messiah and the things he would experience?

  • How did the prophets describe the Messiah’s rule over the earth?

Daniel 12 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

PROPHECY OF THE END TIME

12 “When that time comes, Mikha’el, the great prince who champions your people, will stand up; and there will be a time of distress unparalleled between the time they became a nation and that moment. At that time, your people will be delivered, everyone whose name is found written in the book. Many of those sleeping in the dust of the earth will awaken, some to everlasting life and some to everlasting shame and abhorrence. But those who can discern will shine like the brightness of heaven’s dome, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.

“But you, Dani’el, keep these words secret, and seal up the book until the time of the end. Many will rush here and there as knowledge increases.”

THE WORDS ARE SEALED UP

Then I, Dani’el, looked; and I saw in front of me two others, one on this bank of the river and the other on its other bank. One of them asked the man dressed in linen who was above the water of the river, “How long will these wonders last?” The man dressed in linen who was above the water of the river raised his right and left hands toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times and a half, and that it will be when the the power of the holy people is no longer being shattered that all these things will end.

I heard this, but I couldn’t understand what it meant; so I asked, “Lord, what will be the outcome of all this?” But he said, “Go your way, Dani’el; for these words are to remain secret and sealed until the time of the end. 10 Many will purify, cleanse and refine themselves; but the wicked will keep on acting wickedly, and none of the wicked will understand. But those with discernment will understand. 11 From the time the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 How blessed will be anyone who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. 13 But you, go your way until the end comes. Then you will rest and rise for your reward, at the end of days.”

GIFTS OF THE RUACH HA KODESH

12 But, brothers, I do not want you to go on being ignorant about the things of the Spirit. You know that when you were pagans, no matter how you felt you were being led, you were being led astray to idols, which can’t speak at all. Therefore, I want to make it clear to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says, “Yeshua is cursed!” and no one can say, “Yeshua is Lord,” except by the Ruach HaKodesh.

Now there are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit gives them. Also there are different ways of serving, but it is the same Lord being served. And there are different modes of working, but it is the same God working them all in everyone. Moreover, to each person is given the particular manifestation of the Spirit that will be for the common good. To one, through the Spirit, is given a word of wisdom; to another, a word of knowledge, in accordance with the same Spirit; to another, faith, by the same Spirit; and to another, gifts of healing, by the one Spirit; 10 to another, the working of miracles; to another, prophecy; to another, the ability to judge between spirits; to another, the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues; and to yet another, the ability to interpret tongues. 11 One and the same Spirit is at work in all these things, distributing to each person as he chooses. 12 For just as the body is one but has many parts; and all the parts of the body, though many, constitute one body; so it is with the Messiah. 13 For it was by one Spirit that we were all immersed into one body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slaves or free; and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

14 For indeed the body is not one part but many. 15 If the foot says, “I’m not a hand, so I’m not part of the body,” that doesn’t make it stop being part of the body. 1And if the ear says, “I’m not an eye, so I’m not part of the body,” that doesn’t make it stop being part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, how could it hear? If it were all hearing, how could it smell? 18 But as it is, God arranged each of the parts in the body exactly as he wanted them. 19 Now if they were all just one part, where would the body be? 20 But as it is, there are indeed many parts, yet just one body. 21 So the eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you”; or the head to the feet, “I don’t need you.” 22 On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be less important turn out to be all the more necessary; 23 and upon body parts which we consider less dignified we bestow greater dignity; and the parts that aren’t attractive are the ones we make as attractive as we can, 24 while our attractive parts have no need for such treatment. Indeed, God has put the body together in such a way that he gives greater dignity to the parts that lack it, 25 So that there will be no disagreements within the body, but rather all the parts will be equally concerned for all the others. 26 Thus if one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it; and if one part is honored, all the parts share its happiness.

27 Now you together constitute the body of the Messiah, and individually you are parts of it. 28 And God has placed in the Messianic Community first, emissaries; second, prophets; third, teachers; then those who work miracles; then those with gifts of healing; those with ability to help; those skilled in administration; and those who speak in various tongues. 29 Not all are emissaries, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? or teachers? or miracle-workers? 30 Not all have gifts of healing, not all speak in tongues, not all interpret, do they? 31 Eagerly seek the better gifts.

But now I will show you the best way of all.

Yeremyahu / Jeremiah 1 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

These are the words of Yirmeyahu the son of Hilkiyahu, one of the cohanim living in ‘Anatot, in the territory of Binyamin. The word of Adonai came to him during the days of Yoshiyahu the son of Amon, king of Y’hudah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. It also came during the days of Y’hoyakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Y’hudah, continuing until the eleventh year of Tzidkiyahu the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Y’hudah, right up until the time Yerushalayim was carried away captive, in the fifth month.

Here is the word of Adonai that came to me:

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you;
before you were born, I separated you for myself.
I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”

I said, “Oh, Adonai Elohim, I don’t even know how to speak! I’m just a child!” But Adonai said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m just a child.’

“For you will go to whomever I send you,
and you will speak whatever I order you.
Do not be afraid of them,
for I am with you, says Adonai,
to rescue you.”

Then Adonai put out his hand and touched my mouth, and Adonai said to me,

“There! I have put my words in your mouth.
10 Today I have placed you over nations and kingdoms
to uproot and to tear down,
to destroy and to demolish,
to build and to plant.”

11 The word of Adonai came to me, asking, “Yirmeyahu, what do you see?” I answered, “I see a branch from an almond tree [a]. 12 Then Adonai said to me, “You have seen well, because I am watching [b] to fulfill my word.”

13 A second time the word of Adonai came to me, asking, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a caldron tilted away from the north, over a fire fanned by the wind.” 14 Then Adonai said to me, “From the north calamity will boil over onto everyone living in the land, 15 because I will summon all the families in the kingdoms of the north,” says Adonai,

“and they will come and sit, each one, on his throne
at the entrance to the gates of Yerushalayim,
opposite its walls, all the way around,
and opposite all the cities of Y’hudah.
16 I will pronounce my judgments against them
for all their wickedness in abandoning me,
offering incense to other gods
and worshipping what their own hands made.

17 “But you, dress for action; stand up and tell them
everything I order you to say.
When you confront them, don’t break down;
or I will break you down in front of them!
18 For today, you see, I have made you into
a fortified city, a pillar of iron,
a wall of bronze against the whole land —
against the kings of Y’hudah, against its princes,
against its cohanim and the people of the land.
19 They will fight against you,
but they will not overcome you,
for I am with you,” says Adonai,
“to rescue you.”
