The SH’MA is the CENTRAL PRAYER in the Jewish Prayer Book called SIDDUR and is often the first section of SCRIPTURE that a child learns. During its recitation, the Orthodox Jews pronounce each word very carefully and cover their eyes with their right hand.

ONE implication is the fact that HE is the Only True GOD in the entire world!

Every other “god” is a fake!!!

Additionally, it could imply that GOD is three persons in ONE!

The SH’MA is actually more than the famous six words,

“SH’MA YISRAEL, ADONAI ELOHEINU, ADONAI ECHAD”

………………………………………but composed of three parts linked together into a unity:

• 1. SH’MA (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

The CORE HEBREW PRAYER – Special emphasis is placed upon the FIRST SIX WORDS (SH’MA YISRAEL, ADONAI ELOHEINU, ADONAI ECHAD) and a SIX WORD RESPONSE is given in an undertone (BARUKH SHEM KEVOD MALKHUTO LE’OLAM VA’ED). After a pause, Deuteronomy 6:5-9 is then recited, which STRESSES  the COMMANDMENT to LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL AND MIGHT.

The two letter AYIN and DALET (Hebrew Alphabet) are ENLARGED with the first sentence of the SH’MA. Together these letters form the word “ed” which means “WITNESS” suggesting that the SH’MA is  a TESTIMONY OF THE SOVREIGNTY OF GOD AND OUR PRIMARY DUTY TO LOVE HIM WITH OUR WHOLE BEING.

This statement marks the declaration that the LORD OUR GOD IS ONE. Interestingly, the word “ECHAD” in Hebrew can imply UNITY IN DIVERSITY (the word for ONE AND ONLY ONE, i.e. UNIQUE, is more often rendered as YACHID). For example in Exodus 26:6, the various parts of the TABERNACLE (MISHKAN) are to be constructed so that “it shall be ONE (ECHAD) TABERNACLE” and Ezekiel spoke of TWO STICKS (representing fragmented Israel) as being reunited into one: “and they shall be one (ECHAD) stick in my hand” (Ezekiel 37:19). Moses also used ECHAD in Genesis 2:24 when he wrote, “And they (husband and wife) will become one flesh (besar ECHAD).”

• 2. VEHAYAH (Deuteronomy 11:13-21)

The moving passage STRESSES the BLESSINGS that come through OBEDIENCE TO ADONAI AND THE CONSEQUENCES THAT COME THROUGH DISOBEDIENCE.

• 3. VAIYOMER (Numbers 15:37-41)

This passage concerns the use of the TALLIT (see image below), A RECTANGULAR PRAYER SHAWL WITH FRINGES called TZITZIT. One TZITZIT is attached to each corner of the TALLIT. The reason for wearing the TALLIT is to remind oneself to observe all the COMMANDMENTS OF THE LORD.

YAH (GOD) is The “ALEPH” and “TAV!”

When YAH wrote THE SH’MA, HE knew its VITALITY especially as we go through this WILDERNESS called Earth! HE knew that there were so many other gods on earth that man could worship. HE let man know that HE is the ONLY TRUE YAH!

It is the SH’MA that enable many MEN OF YAH to STAND UP FOR THE TRUTH, for example Elijah and Elisha! Elijah’s and Elisha’s MINISTRIES involved BATTLING AGAINST THE WORSHIP OF OTHER gods as well as MIXING YAH with PAGANISM by worshiping YAH as the PAGANS DO.  Daniel, Jeremiah and Hosea, amongst many other MEN OF YAH  also repeatedly spoke against this a lot. Sadly PAGANISM has continued on into our generation and it is still infiltrating and influencing our WORSHIP OF YAH! YAH has sent HIS PROPHETS to warn against it however most people ARE NOT HEARING YAH whereas others are just choosing to IGNORE YAH, not knowing that this will affect mankind adversely in these perilous end times, if change is not embraced in YAH’S way!

SH’MA IN RELATION TO “YAH THE HOLY TRINITY:”

The very first LINE of the SH’MA quotes the FIRST OF THE TEN COMMANDMENTS as well as one of the GREATEST COMMANDMENTS. The Line states the “ELOHIM our GOD, ELOHIM is ONE (ECHAD)!….”

Note that “ELOHIM” is a plural word for GOD hence referring more than one person within GOD.

As we have learned over time / years, GOD is three PERSONS and yet ONE namely, THE HOLY TRINITY!

• “EL” / “ELI” / “ELOI” / “ELYON” – singular for GOD (masculine)

• ELAH – singular for GOD (feminine)

• “ELOHIM” – plural for GOD (masculine; also includes the feminine)

When the SH’MA states that our ELOHIM (a.k.a GOD The Creator) is ONE (ECHAD, in Hebrew)! This links in with the issue of the “HOLY TRINITY!”

It is important to learn about “YAH The HOLY TRINITY” because Satan has his own UNHOLY TRINITY that will be placed in CHARGE OF THE RULERSHIP OF MAN / EARTH during the GREAT TRIBULATION / TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE.

PASSOVER PAINTING OF BLOOD ON THE DOORPOSTS

The SHEMA / SH’MA is also related to Exodus 12:21-27 where we see YAH giving an instruction to the CHILDREN OF ISRAEL to paint their DOORPOSTS with BLOOD OF AN UNBLEMISHED LAMB.

The BLOOD was painted on the SIDES of the DOORPOSTS as well as the TOP of the DOORPOSTS.

MARK OF THE BEAST 

The SHEMA / SH’MA also has a relationship with the MARK OF THE BEAST (Revelation 13) that will be given to the FOLLOWERS OF THE ANTI-MESSIAH during THE GREAT TRIBULATION / TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE (https://yahushua-thechiefcornerstone.com/the-mark-of-the-beast/).

THE SEAL OF YAH’S PROTECTION

The SHEMA / SH’MA is related to the SEAL OF YAH’S PROTECTION mentioned in Revelation 7 (https://yahushua-thechiefcornerstone.com/the-seal-of-yah/).

THE FIRST OF THE TWO GREATEST COMMANDMENTS (defined by YAHUSHUA):

The SHEMA / SH’MA is the FIRST of the GREATEST COMMANDMENTS among all the COMMANDMENTS  (MITZVOT, in Hebrew) that YAH has given us as seen in Matthew 22:37-40 (Orthodox Jewish Bible Version – OJB).

³⁸ This is the gedolah and rishonah mitzvah.

³⁹ And the second mitzvah is like it: VAHAVTAH LREIACHA KAMOCHA (And thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself, [VAYIKRA 19:18]).

⁴⁰ On these two mitzvot hang the entire Torah and the Neviim.

When you read Matthew 22:37-40 in the Orthodox Jewish Bible Version, it is written exactly as it appears in Deuteronomy 6:4-9. YAHUSHUA , the ONLY ONE and TRUE Messiah repeated the SHEMA / SH’MA to the Pharisees that were enquiring about the GREATEST COMMANDMENT. The reason was that YAHUVEH / YAHWEH GOD (THE FATHER) gave TEN MAIN COMMANDMENTS (stated in Exodus 20) and then 613 other COMMANDMENTS (Exodus to Deuteronomy). YAHUSHUA’S response was a SUMMARY / SUM-UP of all the COMMANDMENTS. The COMMANDMENTS are a GUIDELINE for us as we get through this WILDERNESS called Earth. We need them so as not bring shame upon YAH our MAKER and HIS name as well a YAHUSHUA our BRIDEGROOM if you have accepted HIM.

In case you are wondering, YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH (a.k.a JESUS CHRIST / YESHUA) quoted the SECOND COMMANDMENT (MITZVAH) from Leviticus 19:18 as seen above in Matthew 22:39. This can only be seen in the Orthodox Jewish Bible Version.

The Orthodox Jews SPEAK OUT the SHEMA / SH’MA AS A PRAYER twice daily, that is to say:

• In the MORNING

• In the EVENING / At NIGHT

A Note on THE UNHOLY TRINITY (created by Satan / the devil) and its AGENDA:

Note that Satan always COUNTERFEITS what YAH THE HOLY TRINITY GODHEAD already put in place from the Beginning of Time!

Sadly, some people have come up with the idea that there’s no such thing as TRINITY when it comes to YAH (GOD), the MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH because there is no EVIDENCE in the HOLY SCRIPTURES to back it up! This is a LIE from the PITS OF HELL and is sending many people to Hell as a result after earthly death, for example the person who started the JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES’ Ministry / Church has been revealed by YAH that he is in hell, because of all the LIES he wrote down for the Jehovah’s Witnesses to follow!

YAH (GOD) is THREE PERSONS and YET ONE PERSON. It’s like WATER or an EGG. Can you divide it up and separate it in any way?

Let me explain this by using the image of an egg. One egg has three parts ‒ the egg shell, egg yolk and egg white. We are called to fellowship with the Trinity as a whole. In this context the part of the Trinity that is mostly neglected, in terms of personal connection and friendship, is the Holy Spirit. Yet, the Holy Spirit was sent by God to empower us to live life His way. Is it possible to have the Holy Spirit as our best friend? It definitely is. I will go as far as to say that God wants that for you! God the Father is in heaven and God the Son is at His right hand. God the Holy Spirit was sent to earth to be with us where we live our daily lives, making friendship with Him vital. Why is it important to know that the Holy Spirit is a person and not just a force? It is all about relationship. It is very difficult to build a relationship with someone unless you have personal contact. Just think of the difference between a telephone conversation with someone, versus face to face interaction. You can learn volumes about a person when you meet them personally. It is no different with the Holy Spirit. Building a relationship with the Holy Spirit is much easier when you realise that He is a person in His own right. From this realisation a relationship with Him can be pursued. Will you make an effort to get to know the wonderful Holy Spirit and His nature? He is a person with an identity, feelings and emotions and not a force or mystical power. Make it your mission to know Him personally. We get a good look at the nature of the Holy Spirit through the fruit of the Spirit as mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV), ‘… love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.’ This is exactly what He looks like! Egg white.

Yes, according to the CURRENT HOLY SCRIPTURES, YAHUSHUA (JESUS CHRIST / YESHUA) is seen to mostly, if not only talk about YAH (GOD) THE FATHER and that HE (YAHUSHUA) IS ONE WITH ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH (GOD THE FATHER) however there is a THIRD PERSON who is also ONE WITH THEM! That’s YAH THE HOLY SPIRIT (RUACH HA KODESH / SHKINYINYAH GLORY)!!! If we fail to understand and accept this, the CHANCES of entering and dwelling in the HEAVENS for eternity are very SLIM TO NONE! Just think about it, where are you going that you don’t understand and/or want to understand full well in HIS WAY? Who do you plan to or look forward to meeting there? What’s your GOAL or DESIRE for when you arrive there?

Before we started analysing THE SH’MA in relation to the MARK OF BEAST, Let us re-read Revelation 13:16-18 as follows:

¹⁵ And the Lord said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the Lord set a MARK upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.

That same Letter “Tav” / “+” is what Hitler used as his main logo.

Note that the Ishmaelites were targeted by the Roman Catholics when starting and spreading Islam in order to acquire Jerusalem and control it.

Remember that Ishameal (the Muslims) was Abraham’s son with Hagar (a servant maid in his household) thereby being the brother of Isaac (the Jews).

Both Ishmael and Isaac were Abraham’s children who were (promised by YAH) greatness in this world. See Genesis 16:1-16 & 17:21. It was also said that Ishmael would be wild!

DIVERSION concerning Abraham and the birth of Ishameal:

In Genesis 16:3, Moses pens these fateful words: “After Abram had lived ten years in the land of Canaan, Abram’s wife Sarai took¹² Hagar the Egyptian,¹³ her maid, and gave her to her husband Abram as his wife.” There is an ironic reversal here. Down in Egypt, trustless Abram had given Sarai over to the Egyptian Pharaoh (12:10-20). Now in Canaan, untrusting Sarai gave Abram over to her Egyptian servant. It is ironic how the tables have been turned. In Genesis 12, Abram’s unbelief caused him to agonize while Sarai was in Pharaoh’s palace. Now, Sarai is left to ponder what is going on in Hagar’s bedroom. Abram’s fiasco in Egypt was costly indeed.¹⁴ Hagar was given a promotion. While Hagar was not on equal standing with Sarai, she did become a slave wife. If she produced the heir, she would be the primary wife in the eyes of society.¹⁵

The following chart draws several parallels between Genesis 16 and Genesis 3.¹⁶

The results of Abram and Sarai’s sin were pride (16:4), jealousy (16:5), misery (16:6), and injustice (16:6).¹⁷ In 16:4, Abram “went in to Hagar, and she conceived; and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her sight.” If Sarai’s volunteering Hagar as her surrogate scandalizes us, Abram’s passive, compliant conduct is even more offensive. He, not Sarai, had heard the voice of God. He had led them from Ur. Abram had had no divine directive to employ Hagar. Otherwise he would have led the way.¹⁸ And Abram was fresh from the fiery presence of the Lord (15:12-21). But he did not question her idea. He did not object.¹⁹

Abram made at least four mistakes:

1. Abram failed by doubting the promise of God (Heb 11:5-6). Hudson Taylor, a famous missionary to China, said, “God’s work, done in God’s way, will never lack God’s supply.”

2. Abram failed by listening to his wife’s ungodly advice. Having said that let me also say that many marriages are in trouble because the husband doesn’t listen to his wife. Your wife is your helpmate and you would be wise to pay attention to her counsel.

3. Abram failed to test his wife’s advice and counsel against God’s Word. If your wife suggests something that is contrary to clear teachings of Scripture, then you must reject that counsel and follow what the Word teaches (cf. Acts 5:29).

4. Abram failed to pray for God’s wisdom or guidance. Sometimes the prayer-less decisions we make seem so insignificant and harmless. But often these prayer-less decisions come back to haunt us. If Abram had stopped to think through this situation and consult God, he would have never gone through with it. He would have realized the outcome would be disastrous.

After Hagar conceived, Sarai was “despised in her sight.”²⁰ In Hagar’s opinion Sarai had been demoted. This began the first martial triangle in biblical history. And it all came about because of impatience and disobedience.

Proverbs 30:21-23 says, “Under three things the earth quakes, and under four, it cannot bear up: Under a slave when he becomes king, and a fool when he is satisfied with food, under an unloved woman when she gets a husband, and a maidservant when she supplants her mistress.”

In 16:5, Sarai became volcanic. The shaking ground erupted in anguished jealousy and bloodcurdling blame.²¹ Though Sarai had initially given Abram the green light, she is now flashing raging red.22 In her anger, Sarai said to Abram, “‘May the wrong done me be upon you. I gave my maid into your arms, but when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her sight. May the LORD judge between you and me.’” [A contemporary rendering of this would be: “God will get you for this.”]²³ Logically, Sarai was wrong to place all the blame on Abram. After all, it was her idea. But actually she was right. He was the patriarch. He was the head of the home. God had spoken to him, not to her. He should never have allowed the situation. Abram was truly responsible for the “wrong” (lit. “violence”) she was suffering.²⁴

Also take NOTE that the SHEMA (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) is the FIRST GREATEST COMMANDMENT of all the Exodus 20 COMMANDMENTS. Love the LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND/SOUL and STRENGTH!…. YAHUSHUA quotes the SHEMA (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) as he answers a question about the greatest COMMANDMENT as seen in the GOSPELS ( Matthew 22:33-40). You can only see this in the Orthodox Jewish BIBLE Version. There is a PURPOSE for this.

The HEADBAND represents the ABILITY TO MENTALLY / CONSCIOUSLY / THOUGHTFULLY CHOOSE and make up your mind regarding the God you want to SERVE and promising to serve him faithfully no matter what.

Everything before physical manifestation STARTS IN THE MIND!!!

The ARMBAND stands for The STRENGTH to ACT UPON what you CHOOSE to consciously believe in and worship and give ALLEGIANCE to.

YOUR LIFE IS A FORM OF WORSHIP TO GOD! What you do with it matters a lot!!!

You use your hands to do things, such as Worship God by:

• Lifting up our hands,
• Bowing down before God,
• Give offerings,
• Work,
• Treat people in a certain way, etc.

Our lives are a form of Worship to the God we serve.

We were made to worship The Creator!

Where we give OFFERING matters because you are giving ALLEGIANCE to the God of the Church or Place of Worship that you have chosen and not everyone who is calling “Lord / JESUS)” is calling on and worshipping the YAH (GOD) MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH…

Muslims give ALLEGIANCE to their Allah (false) god (who is Satan himself) by killing non-Muslims, like Christians and Jews.

They use their hands to cut off the HEADS.

The cutting off of HEADS is a FORM OF WORSHIP AND ALLEGIANCE to their god and it actually means something.

They can easily shoot using guns in this modern world but prefer to cut off heads. Why is this? There’s a reason behind it.

The reason is, I think, Because the people being BEHEADED used their brains that are in their heads / minds in their hearts and connected to the brains to reject the (false) god Allah!

They have SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THEY ARE DOING!

If one’s head is cut off in the SPIRITUAL REALM, that person’s SPIRIT loses life its connection to the rest of the body. The LIFE SUPPLY its usual CONNECTION IS CUT OFF. This would manifest PHYSICALLY / PHYSICAL EARTHLY REALM eventually and can end up being un-explainable in most circumstances as it could happen suddenly, such as in one’s sleep.

So they know that if they cut off the head PHYSICALLY, they have also cut off the SPIRITUAL HEAD as well.

……………….This is why we need to be A LIVING SACRIFICE UNTO YAH as seen in Romans 12 so that it is no longer we that live but YAHUSHUA (untouchable) that lives in me as seen in Galatians 2:20.

This is also why we need to obtain GLORIFIED BODIES when we die. They are RENEWED IMMORTAL BODIES. Our SPIRITS are ETERNAL just like YAH’S. This is why we ought to CHOOSE NOW where we want to SPEND OUR ETERNITY after earthly death!

HEAVEN or HELL!

There is NO in-between or purgatory!!!

What is the SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PASSOVER STORY

in relation to the MARK OF THE BEAST?

Let us look at the:

Note that the Hebrew Letter “Tav / “+” has both POSITIVE and NEGATIVE CONNOTATIONS depending on the CONTEXT in which it is used.

In relation to the MARK OF THE BEAST, the Hebrew Letter “Tav” / “+”has a NEGATIVE CONNOTATION!

Sh’mot (Exo) 12:7 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

They are to take some of the BLOOD and SMEAR it on the TWO SIDES and TOP OF THE DOOR-FRAME at the ENTRANCE of the HOUSE in which they eat it.

That SCRIPTURE (Exodus 12:7) has various SIGNIFICANCE when used various contexts.

We will look at it in the CONTEXT OF THE MARK OF THE BEAST.

As we have learned earlier, the MARK OF THE BEAST is all about who you ACKNOWLEDGE with your MIND (Headband) as God as well as your ACTIONS / WHAT YOU DO (Armband), that is to say that how you ACKNOWLEDGE and WORSHIP that God you have chosen to ACKNOWLEDGE as your God as a SIGN OF LOVE TO THAT God.

This is where the SUNDAY WORSHIP issue comes in. I will not go into that for now but will POINT OUT THAT YAH has revealed that everyone who  goes to WORSHIP their God (whichever God including YAH) in any CHURCH or anywhere else on a SUNDAY anywhere in the world during the GREAT TRIBULATION / TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE will receive the MARK OF THE BEAST and thereby be rejected by YAH for eternity.

That was a little diversion. Now back to Exodus 12:7….

YAH tells the Israelites to smear the BLOOD of a Perfect Lamb (unblemished, Symbolic of YAHUSHUA) upon:

• The TWO SIDES OF THE ENTRANCE TO THEIR HOUSE(S) DOORS, thereby representing our HANDS / ARMS and therefore OUR ACTIONS / DEEDS

And also Upon

• The TOP OF THE ENTRANCE TO THEIR HOUSE DOORS representing our FOREHEADS and therefore OUR WILL AND INTELLECT AND EMOTIONS – THOUGHTS.

Remember, LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, MIND/SOUL AND STRENGTH! How do you do that? The answer is BY USING YOUR HEAD AND HANDS mostly!

One (main) Lesson:

Our HEADS and HANDS / ARMS need to constantly be SOAKED IN YAHUSHUA’S BLOOD and GUIDED BY YAH to make the RIGHT DECISIONS!!!

If it seems bad to you to SERVE (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai , then CHOOSE today whom you are going to SERVE!

Will it be the gods your ancestors served beyond the River? or the gods of the Emori, in whose land you are living? As for me and my household, we will serve (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai !” The people answered, “Far be it from us that we would abandon (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai to serve other gods; because it is (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai our GOD who brought us and our fathers up out of the LAND OF EGYPT, from a LIFE OF SLAVERY, and did those GREAT SIGNS before our eyes, and preserved us all along the way we traveled and among all the peoples we passed through; and it was (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai who drove out from ahead of us all the peoples, the Emori living in the land.

Therefore we too will serve (YAHUVEH / YAHWEH) Adonai , for HE is our GOD.”

CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE AS YOUR GOD!!! ….in your MIND / SOUL (Intellect, Will and Emotions)

As well as your ACTIONS / DEEDS.

This is what the Orthodox Jews do because they have some understanding of YAH’S WORD from HIS PERSPECTIVE (Hebrew Perspective)!

Not Greek / Latin perspective as we have been taught over the years!

The only problem is they (Orthodox Jews) have rejected Messiah YAHUSHUA! We pray for their SALVATION that they may not perish after all that they do to please GOD.

THE SEAL OF YAH (Revelation 10) is

the complete OPPOSITE of the MARK OF THE BEAST!!!
