DAY OF ATONEMENT (in Hebrew: YOM KIPPUR)

SHALOM!

DAY OF ATONEMENT/ YOM KIPPUR reveals the HIGH-PRIESTLY WORK OF YAHUSHUA HAS MASHIACH as our KOHEN/COHEN HAGADOL (meaning HIGH PRIEST) for it is the BLOOD that makes ATONEMENT for life after the order of Malchi-Tzedek/Malki-Tzedek (Hebrews 5:10, 6:20).

THE HIGHEST HOLY DAY OF THE YEAR!!!

korban-pesach-525x366

In the TORAH (in the Hebrew language,) the word “YOM KIPPUR” is actually written in the plural. The plural is “YOM HA-KIPPURIM”. This can be related to the FEAST OF ESTHER which in Hebrew is “PURIM”. The word “YOM HA-KIPPURIM” is probably used because it is the one day in the year when THE BOOK OF LIFE is reviewed, all sins, transgressions and iniquities are forgiven, removed and done away with which is very prophetic!

Additionally, TWO GREAT ATONEMENTS are made, that is to say that ATONEMENT is made first for those among the nations who turn to YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH for cleansing and forgiveness. The second is ATONEMENT for the PURIFICATION of ethnic Israel during YOM YAHUVEH, the GREAT DAY OF THE LORD YAHUVEH at the end of days in the future.

“KIPPURIM” can be read as “YOM KE-PURIM”, a “day like PURIM,” meaning DAY OF DELIVERANCE and SALVATION thereby linking to the fact that on the day on which YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH sacrificed HIMSELF on the cross is the GREATEST “PURIM of all, since through HIM we are eternally delivered from the hands of our enemies!!! Praise YAH!!!

The Feast of Trumpets and Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) are the holiest days of the Jewish year. These ten days are called the Days of Awe or High Holy Days. Unlike other holy days, they do not celebrate a season or historical event. This season is a time for looking inward to spiritual growth.

Leviticus 23:26-32 Names of God Bible (NOG)

26 Yahweh spoke to Moses, 27 “In addition, the tenth day of this seventh month is a special day for the payment for sins. There will be a holy assembly. Humble yourselves, and bring Yahweh a sacrifice by fire. 28 Don’t do any work that day. It is a special day for the payment for sins. It is a time when you make peace with Yahweh your Elohim29 Those who do not humble themselves on that day will be excluded from the people. 30 I will kill those who do any work on that day. 31 Don’t do any work. It is a permanent law for generations to come wherever you live. 32 It is a day of worship, a day when you don’t work. Humble yourselves starting on the evening of the ninth day of the month. From that evening to the next, observe the day of worship.”

Leviticus 16 Names of God Bible (NOG)

The Day for Making Peace with the Lord

16 Yahweh spoke to Moses after Aaron’s two sons had come into Yahweh’s presence and died. Yahweh said, “Tell your brother Aaron that he cannot go into the holy place whenever he wants to. If he goes up to the canopy and stands in front of the throne of mercy on the ark, he will die, because I appear in the smoke above the throne of mercy.

“This is what Aaron must do in order to come into the holy place: He must take a bull as an offering for sin and a ram as a burnt offering. He must put on a holy linen robe and wear linen undergarments. He must wear a linen belt and turban. These are holy clothes. He must wash his body and put them on. He will take two male goats from the congregation of Israel as an offering for sin and a ram as a burnt offering.

“Aaron must sacrifice the bull as his own offering for sin. By doing this, he will make peace with the Lord for himself and his family. He must take the two male goats and bring them into Yahweh’s presence at the entrance to the tent of meeting. Then Aaron must throw lots for the two goats. One lot will be for Yahweh and the other for Azazel.[a]Aaron must sacrifice the goat chosen by lot for Yahweh as an offering for sin. 10 But he must bring the goat chosen by lot for Azazel into Yahweh’s presence. He will release it in the desert to Azazel in order to make peace with the Lord for himself and his family.

11 “Aaron will bring the bull. He will then slaughter it as his own offering for sin. By doing this he will make peace with the Lord for himself and his family. 12 He will take an incense burner full of burning coals from the altar, which is in Yahweh’s presence, and two handfuls of finely ground, sweet-smelling incense. He will bring them up to the canopy. 13 Then he will put the incense on the fire in Yahweh’s presence. The cloud of incense will cover the throne of mercy, which is over the words of God’s promise, so that he will not die. 14 He will take some of the bull’s blood and sprinkle it with his finger on the east side of the throne of mercy. Then he will sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times in front of the throne of mercy.

15 “Next, Aaron will slaughter the goat for the people’s offering for sin. He will take the blood inside, go up to the canopy, and sprinkle it on the throne of mercy and in front of it, as he did with the bull’s blood. 16 So he will make peace with the Lord for all the sins the Israelites committed against the holy place. These sins happened because the Israelites were unclean and because they committed rebellious acts. He will do the same for the tent of meeting which is among an unclean people. 17 No one may be in the tent of meeting from the time Aaron enters the holy place to do this until he comes out. Aaron will make peace with the Lord for his own sins, his family’s sins, and the sins of the entire assembly of Israel. 18 Then he will go out to the altar that is in Yahweh’s presence and make peace with the Lord there for the sins committed. He will take some of the blood from the bull and some of the goat’s blood and put it all around the horns of the altar. 19 With his finger he will sprinkle some of the blood on it seven times. Because the Israelites made it unclean, he will cleanse it and declare it holy.

20 “When he finishes making peace with the Lord at the holy place, the tent of meeting, and the altar, he will bring the living goat forward. 21 Aaron will place both hands on its head. He will confess over it all the sins, all the rebellious acts, and all the things the Israelites did wrong. He will transfer them to the goat’s head. A man will be appointed to release the goat in the desert. 22 The goat will take all their sins away to a deserted place. The man must release the goat in the desert.

23 “Then Aaron will go to the tent of meeting, take off the linen clothes he had put on to go into the holy place, and leave them there. 24 He will wash his body in the holy place and put on his other clothes. Then he will come out and sacrifice the burnt offering for himself and for the people to make peace with the Lord for his own sins and the sins of the people. 25 He will burn the fat of the offering for sin on the altar.

26 “The man who released the goat to Azazel must wash his clothes and his body. Then he may return to the camp. 27 He must take the bull and the goat outside the camp. These animals were the offering for sin whose blood was brought into the holy place to make peace with the Lord for sins. The skin, meat, and excrement from the animals must be burned. 28 Whoever burns them must wash his clothes and his body. Then he may return to the camp.

29 “This will be a permanent law for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month both native Israelites and foreigners must humble themselves. They must do no work. 30 On this day Aaron will make peace with the Lord to make you clean. Then you will be clean from all your sins in Yahweh’s presence. 31 This is the most important worship festival there is for you. You will humble yourselves. It is a permanent law. 32 The priest who is anointed and ordained to serve as chief priest in his father’s place will pay for sins. He will put on the holy linen clothes 33 and will make peace with the Lord at the holy place, the tent of meeting, and the altar. He will make peace with the Lord for the priests and all the worshipers.

34 “This permanent law tells you how to make peace with the Lord once a year for all the sins the Israelites committed.”

Aaron did as Yahweh had commanded Moses.

Psalm 51 Names of God Bible (NOG)

Psalm 51

For the choir director; a psalm by David when the prophet Nathan came to him after David’s adultery with Bathsheba.

Have pity on me, O Elohim, in keeping with your mercy.
In keeping with your unlimited compassion, wipe out my rebellious acts.
Wash me thoroughly from my guilt,
and cleanse me from my sin.
I admit that I am rebellious.
My sin is always in front of me.
I have sinned against you, especially you.
I have done what you consider evil.
So you hand down justice when you speak,
and you are blameless when you judge.

Indeed, I was born guilty.
I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.
Yet, you desire truth and sincerity.[a]
Deep down inside me you teach me wisdom.
Purify me from sin with hyssop,[b] and I will be clean.[c]
Wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
Let me hear sounds of joy and gladness.
Let the bones that you have broken dance.
Hide your face from my sins,
and wipe out all that I have done wrong.

10 Create a clean heart in me, O Elohim,
and renew a faithful spirit within me.
11 Do not force me away from your presence,
and do not take Ruach Qodesh from me.
12 Restore the joy of your salvation to me,
and provide me with a spirit of willing obedience.

13 Then I will teach your ways to those who are rebellious,
and sinners will return to you.
14 Rescue me from the guilt of murder,
    Elohim, my savior.
Let my tongue sing joyfully about your righteousness!
15 Adonay, open my lips,
and my mouth will tell about your praise.
16 You are not happy with any sacrifice.
Otherwise, I would offer one to you.
You are not pleased with burnt offerings.
17 The sacrifice pleasing to Elohim is a broken spirit.
Elohim, you do not despise a broken and sorrowful heart.
18 Favor Zion with your goodness.
    Rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then you will be pleased with sacrifices offered in the right spirit—
with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings.
Young bulls will be offered on your altar.

5-the-blood-of-jesus-59-638

According to Leviticus 16; 18 & 23 as well as Numbers 29:7-11,

A YOUNG BULL was SACRIFICED unto ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH and the BLOOD was SPRINKLED onto the walls in the HOLY PLACE and HOLY OF HOLIES (about 7 times). The BLOOD was also SPRINKLED onto the ARK OF THE COVENANT which was a DIVINE SYMBOL OF YAH’S (GOD’S) PRESENCE AMONG HIS PEOPLE. This was done by the HIGH PRIEST. The Bull’s BLOOD was also used to PURIFY THE LEVITE PRIESTS.
Remember that the LEVITE PRIESTS had a Great Responsibility among the Children of Israel.

The YOUNG BULL was an OFFERING given from among the Children of Israel.

Praise ABBA YAHUVEH for YAHUSHUA (a.k a JESUS / YESHUA) put an end to all that!!! All we need to do now is CONFESS OUR SINS and ASK FOR FORGIVENESS and ACTUALLY WORK HARD TO AVOID SINNING AGAINST YAH (a.k.a GOD)!

Before YAHUSHUA’S (a.k.a JESUS’ / YESHUA’S) sacrificial death on the CROSS in 30 A.D, as commanded by YAHUVEH / YAHWEH GOD THE FATHER, the Children of Israel would present TWO GOATS to the LEVITE PRIESTS for YOM KIPPUR / DAY OF ATONEMENT.

As per Leviticus 16, 18, 23 & Numbers 29:7-11, ONE GOAT was to be SACRIFICED TO ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH symbolic of YAHUSHUA our MESSIAH as a SIN SACRIFICE.

The SECOND GOAT was SACRIFICED to AZAZEL a.k.a HALEL (the actual name of Satan / Lucifer / the devil) after praying all of ISRAEL’S SINS thereby transferring ISRAEL’S SINS onto the HEAD of the GOAT hence being a SCAPEGOAT after which the GOAT was TIED WITH A SCARLET (Red) STRIP and cast into the desert and/or off a cliff.
Whenever ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH was pleased with the ATONEMENT done, this was REFLECTED by the RED STRIP around the GOAT’S NECK turning WHITE as WOOL as spoken of in Isaiah 1:18

(“COME NOW LET US REASON TOGETHER, saith the LORD YAHUVEH: THOUGH YOUR SINS BE AS SCARLET, THEY SHALL BE AS WHITE AS SNOW; THOUGH THEY BE RED LIKE CRIMSON, THEY SHALL BE LIKE WOOL.”)

The BLOOD of the GOAT SACRIFICED to ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH was SPRINKLED ONTO THE ARK OF THE COVENANT in the HOLY OF HOLIES as a PHYSICAL SYMBOL of the ATONEMENT FOR YAH’S People, Israel in addition to the PRAYERS said by the People and HIGH PRIEST.

After YAHUSHUA’S death during the FEAST OF PASSOVER / UNLEAVENED BREAD & FIRST FRUITS (all occur in the same week), on the next YOM KIPPUR that year (30 AD), the SCARLET STRIP did NOT turn WHITE! Guess why! There was no need any longer for the SACRIFICES to be done. In addition, the SCARLET STRIP stopped turning WHITE! In fact the Orthodox Jews were bewildered and confused. They ended up cutting out over 200 years from their HISTORY just to prove that YAHUSHUA did not exist.

So Praise YAHUSHUA for HIS SACRIFICIAL DEATH on our behalf as it / HIS BLOOD ATONED FOR OUR SINS!
Do you know that the ARK OF THE COVENANT was right BELOW YAHUSHUA’S CROSS? Our GOD is a MIGHTY GOD! When YAHUSHUA died, HIS BLOOD TRICKLED DOWN to the MERCY SEAT OF THE ARK OF THE COVENANT? Ron Wyatt, a CHRISTIAN ARCHEOLOGIST found the Location of the ARK OF THE COVENANT before his death. YAHUSHUA’S CROSS was positioned exactly above the ARK OF THE COVENANT and where the FIRST MAN (Adam) was actually formed on the earth before being placed in the GARDEN OF EDEN). This can be found in the BOOK OF THE CAVE OF TREASURES and ADAM & EVE. He found the BLOOD OF YAHUSHUA on it FRESH as the day YAHUSHUA died on the cross! Amazing. JEWISH HISTORY

21e970e88c823307b4bcf4f8c890ea24--jehovah-s-witnesses-jehovah-witness

The 10-day period beginning on ROSH HASHANAH and ending on YOM KIPPUR is known as the “Ten Days of Repentance”; this is the period of which the prophet speaks when he proclaims (Isaiah 55:6) “Seek YAH (a.k.a GOD) when He is to be found; call on Him when He is near.” Psalm 130, Avinu Malkeinu and other special inserts and additions are included in our daily prayers during these days.

YOM KIPPUR is the HOLIEST DAY day of the year — the day on which we are closest to YAH and to the quintessential core of our own souls. It is the “Day of Atonement”“For on this day He will forgive you, to purify you, that you be cleansed from all your sins before G-d” (Leviticus 16:30).

For twenty-six hours, from several minutes before sunset on Tishrei 9 to after nightfall on Tishrei 10, we “afflict our souls”: we abstain from food and drink, do not wash or anoint our bodies, do not wear leather shoes, and abstain from marital relations.

When the Holy Temple stood in Jerusalem, the YOM KIPPUR service included the High Priest’s entry into the “HOLY OF HOLIES” to offer the ketoret — the only time that anyone entered the Temple’s innermost chamber — and the “casting of lots” over two goats, one to be offered to YAH and the other to carry off the sins of Israel to the wilderness. Today, we spend the day in YAH’S Presence garbed in a white garment called a kittel to resemble the sin-free angels and to waken thoughts of repentance by reminding us of the day of our death. In the course of the day we hold five prayer services: Maariv, with its solemn Kol Nidrei service, on the eve of YOM KIPPUR; ShacharitMusaf, which includes a detailed account of the Temple service; Minchah, which includes the reading of the Book of Jonah; and Ne’illah, the “closing of the gates” service at sunset. We say the Al Chet confession of sins ten times, and recite Psalms every available moment.

The day is the most solemn of the year, yet an undertone of joy suffuses it: a joy that revels in the spirituality of the day and expresses the confidence that YAH will accept our repentance, forgive our sins, and seal our verdict for a year of life, health and happiness. When the closing Ne’illah service climaxes in the resounding cries of “Hear O Israel… YAH is one” and a single blast of the shofar, the joy erupts in song and dance, followed by the festive after-fast meal, making the evening following YOM KIPPUR a YOM TOV (festival) in its own right.

YOM KIPPUR = CULMINATION OF THE DAYS OF AWE

YomKippur

PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE:

Main Themes are:

  • REPENTANCE (which involves TESHUVAH meaning RETURNING TO YAH)
  • ATONEMENT (FORGIVENESS)
  • JUDGEMENT

When Moses was coming down the Mountain on YOM KIPPUR, his face was glowing because he had been in the presence of YAHUVEH (GOD THE FATHER) for 40 days. Moses had to cover his face because the people could not bear to see his face as it was to much for them. This is why YOM KIPPUR is also known as PANIM A PANIM meaning FACE TO FACE! YAH had MERCY!

30.jpg

YOM KIPPUR is when YAHUSHUA’S earthly MINISTRY likely began. Remember that YAHUSHUA’S earthly Ministry last about 3 1/2 years. It finished just before the FEAST OF WEEKS.

YOM KIPPUR  is the DAY OF THE LORD YAHUVEH (a.k.a YAHWEH)! Note that we have 6 MILLENNIAL DAYS on earth and then the 7TH MILLENNIAL DAY is the DAY OF THE LORD YAHUVEH!

Book of the Secrets of Enoch Chapter 33

God shows Enoch the age of this world, its existence of seven thousand years, and the eighth thousand is the end, neither years, nor months, nor weeks, nor days

1And I appointed the eighth day also, that the eighth day should be the first-created after my work, and that the first seven revolve in the form of the seventh thousand, and that at the beginning of the eighth thousand there should be a time of not-counting, endless, with neither years nor months nor weeks nor days nor hours.

2And now, Enoch, all that I have told you, all that you have understood, all that you have seen of heavenly things, all that you have seen on earth, and all that I have written in books by my great wisdom, all these things I have devised and created from the uppermost foundation to the lower and to the end, and there is no counsellor nor inheritor to my creations.

3I am self-eternal, not made with hands, and without change.

4My thought is my counsellor, my wisdom and my word are made, and my eyes observe all things how they stand here and tremble with terror.

5If I turn away my face, then all things will be destroyed.

6And apply your mind, Enoch, and know him who is speaking to you, and take thence the books which you yourself have written.

7And I give you Samuil (11) and Raguil (12), who led you up, and the books, and go down to earth, and tell your sons all that I have told you, and all that you have seen, from the lower heaven up to my throne, and all the troops.

(11) Samuil. Or, “Sariel.”
(12) Raguil. Or, “Raguel.”

8For I created all forces, and there is none that resists me or that does not subject himself to me. For all subject themselves to my monarchy, and labour for my sole rule.

9Give them the books of the handwriting, and they will read them and will know me for the creator of all things, and will understand how there is no other God but me.

10And let them distribute the books of your handwriting–children to children, generation to generation, nations to nations.

11And I will give you, Enoch, my intercessor, the archistratege Michael, for the handwritings of your fathers Adam, Seth, Enos, Cainan, Mahaleleel, and Jared your father.

The 7TH DAY IS “THE DAY OF THE LORD” or “LORD’S DAY”

GREAT TRIBULATION / DAY OF JACOB’S TROUBLE:- As YOM KIPPUR is JUDGEMENT DAY, it will be the day of the START OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION also known as DAY OF JACOB’S TROUBLE. It will also be the day of the END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION 7 years later.

Remember that the GREAT TRIBULATION is the RELEASE OF YAHUVEH’S JUDGEMENT UPON THE EARTH hence THE GREAT TRIBULATION called THE DAY OF THE LORD YAHUVEH also known as JUDGEMENT DAY!

At the END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION, the BATTLE OF ARMAGEDDON will take place after which the Anti-Messiah, False Prophet and Devil will be cast into Hell by Archangel Michael. This will be a form of JUDGEMENT!

At the end of the MILLENNIAL REIGN (that is end of 7000 years of earth’s existence), another JUDGEMENT DAY (FINAL) where the BOOKS WILL BE OPENED will occur. All the dead will rise, even the wicked and their deeds (good and bad) be judged accordingly.

THE DAY OF THE LORD = THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS:

Remember that when the TEMPLE stood in Yahrushalayim (Jerusalem), ONLY ONCE A YEAR, did the HIGH PRIEST have the opportunity to go into the “HOLY OF HOLIES” in order to make ATONEMENT for the sins of the nation of Israel.

In future, Romans 11 will be fulfilled on this day – YOM KIPPUR. ALL OF ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED. There will be RESTORATION OF THE KINGDOM TO ISRAEL. The MESSIAH BEN-DAVID will reign forever!

The Name of the LORD:- According to the Orthodox Jews, YOM KIPPUR is the only day of the year when they can say the name of the LORD “YAHUVEH”. This is very wrong because the HOLY SCRIPTURES make it clear that we need to learn GOD’S NAMES and use them always (Psalm 91:14).

So, on YOM KIPPUR, there will be RESTORATION OF GOD’S NAMES and various other things, such as GOD’S CALENDAR, FEASTS, SABBATH, etc.

Two goats were sacrificed on YOM KIPPUR before YAHUSHUA’S earthly MINISTRY. One of the goats represented YAHUSHUA our MESSIAH and THE LAMB OF YAHUVEH whereas the other goat represented the ANTI-MESSIAH and was sacrificed to Azazel (the personal name of Satan, the Devil a.k.a Lucifer – these are more like titles).

The bull was sacrificed to make ATONEMENT FOR THE TEMPLE OF YAHUVEH and PURIFY THE TEMPLE.

bullock

Lots would be cast in order to determine which goat would be cast to YAHUVEH and which one would be cast to Azazel. The one to YAHUVEH was sacrificed to ATONE for the SINS OF THE PEOPLE whereas the one to Azazel was BANISHED to the desert. Before the casting the goat to Azazel off a cliff or into the desert, the HIGH PRIEST would lay his hand upon the goat and pray the sins of Israel upon it so in that way, transferring Israel’s sins onto the goat and then casting it away to die forever with the sins of the people thereby getting rid of sin. This is very PROPHETICALLY SYMBOLIC of what will happen at the END OF THE GREAT TRIBULATION, that is to say that Archangel Michael will cast the Anti-Messiah, False Prophet and Satan would be cast into Hell hence judging them.

There was a SCARLET CLOTH which would turn white every year when the HIGH PRIEST atoned for the sins of the people. When YAHUSHUA died, around 30 A.D., the CLOTH would no longer turn WHITE when the HIGH PRIEST atoned for the people of Israel’s SINS because YAHUSHUA was THE FINAL ATONEMENT.

Leviticus 16 describes the annual Yom Kippur ritual, centered on a series of sacrifices and sprinklings of blood on the altar, all to purify the Mishkan (the Tabernacle in the wilderness, and later the Temple in Jerusalem) and make it fit for the Shechinah (God’s presence) to dwell among Bnei Yisrael (Children of Israel).

A unique part of the ceremony is the selection by lot of two goats, one to be sacrificed as a sin-offering, the other to be sent out to Azazel in the wilderness.  The role and fate of the latter, the “scapegoat,” is described in vs. 21-22 .  According to these verses Israel’s sins were transferred onto the goat’s head and it was sent off to the wilderness, a process of purification by riddance.

Leviticus 16 presents ritual impurity and indeed sinfulness as external ritual defects that can be removed, like chametz before Pesach, through religious ceremony, in an almost “magical” way.  The main focus of the purification process was the Mishkan, and the people as individuals or as a collective.  The ultimate goal of the passage was to keep the holy space and people of the Mishkan pure, lest YAHUVEH GOD withdraw and distance HIMSELF, a very fearful idea.

When YOM KIPPUR is called JUDGMENT DAY, it really does stand for what it means! There are LAYERS OF PROPHETIC SIGNIFICANCE UPON IT.

As a MESSIANIC JEW, know that your sins have already been atoned for by YAHUSHUA, our MESSIAH! We are therefore to observe the DAY OF ATONEMENT by thanking ABBA YAHUVEH for the gift of YAH’S SALVATION as well as REPENTING! Additionally, read the BOOK OF HEBREWS a.k.a MESSIANIC JEWS.

YAHUSHUA was the final SIN SACRIFICE made to YAHUVEH /YAHWEH GOD and the minute HE died, we got access to YAHUVEH’S HOLY OF HOLIES because the Temple Curtain was torn into two! Praise YAH!!!

As Messianic Jews, rather than be so sad around this time, we rejoice in YAHUSHUA (a.k.a JESUS CHRIST / YESHUA)!! The reason is that because of YAHUSHUA’S Sacrificial Death on the Cross, there is no need for us to carry out any more sacrifices (particularly SIN SACRIFICES). Additionally, we can boldly approach the THRONE OF YAHUVEH (a.k.a YAHWEH GOD THE FATHER) through YAHUSHA HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON and HIS BLOOD as seen in John 3:16 and Hebrews 4:16, etc.

Hebrews 4:15-16 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)

15 For we do not have a cohen gadol unable to empathize with our weaknesses; since in every respect he was tempted just as we are, the only difference being that he did not sin. 16 Therefore, let us confidently approach the throne from which God gives grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace in our time of need.

Hebrews 4:15-16 Names of God Bible (NOG)

15 We have a chief priest who is able to sympathize with our weaknesses. He was tempted in every way that we are, but he didn’t sin. 16 So we can go confidently to the throne of God’s kindness[a] to receive mercy and find kindness, which will help us at the right time.

Praise YAH! Praise YAHUSHUA for:

HE was despised and rejected by people.
HE was an Ish Makoboth, familiar with suffering.
HE was despised like one from whom people turn their faces,
and we didn’t consider HIM to be worth anything.
HE certainly has taken upon himself our suffering
    and carried our sorrows,
but we thought that Elohim had wounded him,
            beat HIM, and punished HIM.
HE was wounded for our rebellious acts.
HE was crushed for our sins.
HE was punished so that we could have peace,
and we received healing from his wounds.

We have all strayed like sheep.
Each one of us has turned to go his own way,
and Yahweh has laid all our sins on him.
He was abused and punished,
but he didn’t open his mouth.
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter.
He was like a sheep that is silent
when its wool is cut off.
            He didn’t open his mouth.

MONTH OF ELUL 1 and ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH TISHRI 10 which is YOM KIPPUR (40 days)

ELUL 1 is 40 days away from YOM KIPPUR (a.k.a in English as DAY OF ATONEMENT)!

NOTE that The Hebrew Calendar has LAYERS OF HISTORY / MEANING / SIGNIFICANCE UPON IT!

Remember that 40 is the number of PROBATION ; TRIAL.

YOM KIPPUR is the HIGHEST SABBATH of each year!!! YOM KIPPUR is a DAY of FASTING and DEEP REPENTANCE. It is a day to mention every sin committed against YAH unto YAH and ask for FORGIVENESS plus CLEANSING BY THE BLOOD OF YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH!

40:

Mentioning 146 times in Scripture, the number 40 generally symbolizes a period of testing, trial or probation.

During Moses’ life he lived forty years in Egypt and forty years in the desert before YAH selected him to lead his people out of slavery. Moses was also on Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights, on two separate occasions (Exodus 24:18, 34:1 – 28), receiving God’s laws. He also sent spies, for forty days, to investigate the land God promised the Israelites as an inheritance (Numbers 13:25, 14:34).

  • It took the Israelites 40 years to reach the PROMISED LAND!

  • Moses spent 40 days and 40 nights on Mount Sinai thrice (three different times) during which time he received the TEN COMMANDMENTS plus REPENTED before ABBA YAHUVEH / YAHWEH (GOD THE FATHER) on behalf of the Israelites after the Golden Calf event.

  • The TWELVE SPIES sent by Moses to check the PROMISED LAND explored the PROMISED LAND for 40 days (Numbers 13:25).

  • Several Jewish leaders and kings are said to have ruled for “forty years”, that is, a generation. Examples include Eli (1 Samuel 4:18), Saul (Acts 13:21), David (2 Samuel 5:4), and Solomon (1 Kings 11:42).

  • Goliath challenged the Israelites twice a day for forty days before David defeated him. (1 Samuel 17:16)

  • The prophet Jonah powerfully warned ancient Nineveh, for forty days, that its destruction would come because of its many sins.

  • The prophet Ezekiel laid on His right side for 40 days to symbolize Judah’s sins (Ezekiel 4:6).

  • Elijah went 40 days without food or water at Mount Horeb.

  • 40 lashes is one of the punishments meted out by the Sanhedrin, though in actual practice only 39 lashes were administered.

  • YAHUSHUA fasted for 40 days and 40 nights before going into MINISTRY.  During this time, YAHUSHUA was tempted by the devil three times.

  • Forty days was the period from the resurrection of Jesus to the ascension of Jesus. (Acts 1:3). He also appeared to his disciples and others for 40 days after his resurrection from the dead.

  • The number forty can also represent a generation of man. Because of their sins after leaving Egypt, God swore that the generation of Israelites who left Egyptian bondage would not enter their inheritance in Canaan (Deuteronomy 1). The children of Israel were punished by wandering the wilderness for 40 years before a new generation was allowed to possess the promised land.

  • YAHUSHUA, just days before his crucifixion, prophesied the total destruction of Jerusalem (Matthew 24:1 – 2, Mark 13:1 – 2). Forty years after his crucifixion in 30 A.D., the mighty Roman Empire destroyed the city and burned its beloved temple to the ground.

40 is symbolic of PROBATION / TRIAL.

For the forty days leading up to YOM KIPPUR, it is customary to BLOW THE SHOFAR daily to SIGNAL and REMIND THE UPCOMING JUDGEMENT OF YAH! We are to ask YAH to help us not to end up on HIS left side but rather on HIS RIGHT HAND SIDE at the end of it all.

This day is mentioned in the TORAH (Leviticus 16; 23:26-32)
