Note that the Holy Biblical Scriptures say that YAH Almighty is so glorious that no man can see HIS face! HIS GLORY is brighter than the brightest light in the earth as well as the sun and moon!

Parashat Bereshit

Creation in Six Days

1 In the beginning ELOHIM (GOD) created the heavens and the earth. ^[a] 2 Now the earth was chaos and waste, darkness was on the surface of the deep, and the RUACH ELOHIM was hovering upon the surface of the water.^[b]

³ Then ELOHIM (GOD) said, “Let there be light!” and there was light. ⁴ ELOHIM (GOD) saw that the LIGHT was good. So ELOHIM (GOD) distinguished the LIGHT from the darkness. ⁵ ELOHIM (GOD) called the LIGHT “day,” and the darkness HE called “night.” So there was evening and there was morning—one day.

 

It is said in Genesis that in beginning, the earth was without form, the earth was void and that darkness covered the earth. Then YAH (a.k.a ELOHIM) said, “Let there be LIGHT and HE separated the LIGHT from the Darkness.” This all happened before the 4th day on which YAH created the sun, moon and stars. Note that these were created for signs, seasons and wonders as well as to give light during the day and light during the night. Let the Holy Biblical Scriptures give us the answer as that’s the best place to look for answers.

The Creation

Note that YAH calls the sun, moon and stars lights.” This clearly implies that there is a difference between The LIGHT and the lights! They were certainly two different things.

Genesis 1:14-19 New International Version (NIV)

¹⁴ And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, ¹⁵ and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so. ¹⁶ God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. ¹⁷ God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth, ¹⁸ to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good. ¹⁹ And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

 

 

 

The Holy Biblical Scriptures say in Yahuchanan/John 1 that The WORD of YAH Almighty is The LIGHT!

The WORD Becomes Flesh

1 In the beginning was the WORD^[a] The WORD was with GOD, and the WORD was GOD. ² HE was with GOD in the beginning. ³ All things were made through HIM, and apart from HIM nothing was made that has come into being. ⁴ In HIM was LIFE, and the life was the LIGHT of men. ⁵ The LIGHT shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it.

⁶ There came a man sent from GOD, whose name was John. ⁷ HE came as a witness to testify about the LIGHT, so that through HIM everyone might believe. ⁸ HE was not the LIGHT, but he came to bear witness concerning the LIGHT. ⁹ The TRUE LIGHT, coming into the world, gives light to every man.

¹⁰ HE was in the world, and the world was made through HIM; but the world did not know HIM. ¹¹ He came to His own, but HIS own did not receive HIM. ¹² But whoever did receive HIM, those trusting in HIS name, to these HE gave the right to become children of GOD. ¹³ They were born not of a bloodline, nor of human desire, nor of man’s will, but of GOD. ¹⁴ And the WORD became flesh and tabernacled among us. We looked upon His glory,^[b] the Glory of the one and only^[c] from the FATHER, full of Grace and Truth.

¹⁵ John testifies about HIM. He cried out, saying, “This is He of whom I said, ‘The One who comes after me is above me, because He existed before me.’” ¹⁶ Out of HIS fullness, we have all received grace on top of Grace. ¹⁷ TORAH was given through Moses; Grace and Truth came through YAHUSHUA the MESSIAH. ¹⁸ No one has ever seen GOD; but the one and only GOD,^[d] in the FATHER’S embrace, has made HIM known.

 

 

 

Then in Yahuchanan/John 8, YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH says that HE is The LIGHT OF THE WORLD!

The Light of the World

¹² YAHUSHUA spoke to them again, saying, “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. The one who follows ME will no longer walk in darkness, but will have THE LIGHT OF LIFE.”

 

It is also said in the Book of Revelation that (most particularly verse 23):

A New Heaven and a New Earth

21 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.^[a]

² I also saw the holy city—the New Jerusalem—coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. ^[b] 3 I also heard a loud voice from the throne, saying,

“Behold, the dwelling of GOD  is among men,
    and He shall tabernacle among them.
They shall be His people,
    and God Himself shall be among them
    and be their God.^[c]
4 He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes,^[d]
    and death shall be no more.
Nor shall there be mourning or crying or pain any longer,
    for the former things have passed away.”

⁵ And the One seated upon the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new!” Then He said, “Write, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

⁶ Then He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will freely give from the spring of the water of life. ^[e] 7 The one who overcomes shall inherit these things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. ^[f] 8 But for the cowardly and faithless and detestable and murderers and sexually immoral and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars—their lot is in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The New Jerusalem

⁹ Then came one of the seven angels holding the seven bowls full of the seven final plagues, and he spoke with me, saying, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

¹⁰ Then he carried me away in the Ruach to a great and high mountain,^[g]and he showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, ¹¹ having the glory of God—her radiance like a most precious stone, like a jasper, sparkling like crystal. ¹² She had a great, high wall, with twelve gates, and above the gates twelve angels. On the gates were inscribed the names of the twelve tribes of Bnei-Yisrael— ¹³ three gates on the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates on the west. ^[h] 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve emissaries of the Lamb.

¹⁵ The angel speaking with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city and its gates and walls. ^[i] 16 The city is laid out as a square—its length the same as its width. ²² I saw no temple in her, for its Temple is Adonai Elohei-Tzva’ot and the Lamb. ²³ And the city has no need for the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of ELOHIM (GOD) lights it up, and its lamp is the Lamb. ^[k] 24 The nations shall walk by its light, and the kings of the earth bring their glory into it. ^[l] 25 Its gates shall never be shut by day,^[m] for there shall be no night there! ²⁶ And they shall bring into it the glory and honor of the nations. ²⁷ And nothing unholy^[n] shall ever enter it, nor anyone doing what is detestable or false,^[o] but only those written in the Book of Life.

 

 

 

Not much information is given about Darkness in Genesis 1 however, YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH speaks more about it as recorded in the Gospels:

Matthew 22:12-14 King James Version (KJV)

¹² And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.

¹³ Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

¹⁴ For many are called, but few are chosen.

A Child Will Be Born as the PRINCE OF PEACE

² The people who walk in darkness will see a bright LIGHT.
    The LIGHT will shine on those who live in the land of death’s shadow.

 

 

 

 

John 3:20-21 Names of God Bible (NOG)

²⁰ People who do what is wrong hate the light and don’t come to the light. They don’t want their actions to be exposed. ²¹ But people who do what is true come to the light so that the things they do for God may be clearly seen.
