There are daily seliychot prayers to be said during the month of ‘Elul’ preceded by a Blessing and ended with the recitation hence reminder of The Thirteen Attributes of YAH’S Divine Mercy!

 

The Bracha:

Baruch (Barukh) Atah ADONAY YAHUVEH ELOHEYNU Melech ha’olam asher hatz’dakeynu al y’dey emunah biYAHUSHUA HaMashiach, u’vish’mo anu hak’reyv t’filliym shel seliychot.

 

Blessed Are YOU O LORD YAHUVEH our EL, King of the universe, Who has justified us through faith in YAHUSHUA the Messiah, and in HIS Name we offer prayers of forgiveness.

S’lach lanu aviynu ki chatnu, m’chal lanu mal’keynu kiy mocheyl v’soleyach Atah. Barukh Atah ADONAY YAHUVEH, chanun hamar ‘beh lis ‘loach.

Forgive me FATHER, for I have erred; pardon me, my King, for I have willfully sinned; for YOU pardon and forgive. Blessed are YOU, LORD YAHUVEH, the gracious ONE Who pardons abundantly.

 

T’shuvah

(Repentance)

Hashiveynu Aviynu l’toratekha, v’kar’veynu malkeynu la’avodatekha, v’hachaziyreynu bit shuvah sh’leymah l’faneykha. Barukh Atah ADONAY harotzeyh bit ‘shuvah.

Bring me back, FATHER, to YOUR TORAH, and bring me near my King, to YOUR service, and influence me to return in perfect repentance before YOU. Blessed Are YOU O LORD YAHUVEH, Who desires repentance.

The Righteousness of ELOHIM (GOD) Through Faith

²¹ But now the righteousness of ELOHIM (GOD) has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— ²² the righteousness of ELOHIM (GOD) through faith in YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH for all who believe. For there is no distinction: ²³ for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of ELOHIM, ²⁴ and are justified by HIS Grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH, ²⁵ whom ELOHIM (GOD) put forward as a propitiation by HIS blood, to be received by faith. This was to show ELOHIM’S (GOD’S) righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins.

 

Prayer:

• Oh ABBA YAHUVEH, I pray that you give understanding to your people, Israel that charity and observance of TORAH commands without acceptance of YAHUSHUA’S atoning blood cannot avert the severe decree, in YAHUSHUA’S Name, Amen!

• RUACH HA KODESH, reveal YOUR Truth to them in the season of repentance, in YAHUSHUA’S Name, Amen!

The Thirteen Attributes of YAH’S Divine Mercy

The Thirteen Attributes of Mercy or Shelosh-‘Esreh Middot HaRakhamim (transliterated from the Hebrew: שָׁלוֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה מִידוֹת הרַחֲמִים) as enumerated in the Book of Exodus (Exodus 34:6–7) are the Divine Attributes with which, according to Judaism, YAH Almighty governs the world.

⁶ The LORD YAHUVEH passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD YAHUVEH, the Lord, a GOD merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, ⁷ keeping steadfast love for thousands,^[a] forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, but who will by no means clear the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children and the children’s children, to the third and the fourth generation.”

 

 

Summary:

1. יְהוָה YAHUVEH: compassion before a person sins;
2. יְהוָה YAHUVEH: compassion after a person has sinned;
3. אֵל El: mighty in compassion to give all creatures according to their need;
4. רַחוּם Raḥum: merciful, that humankind may not be distressed;
5. וְחַנּוּן VeḤanun: and gracious if humankind is already in distress;
6. אֶרֶךְ אַפַּיִם Erekh appayim: slow to anger;
7. וְרַב-חֶסֶד VeRav ḥesed: and plenteous in kindness;
8. וֶאֱמֶת VeEmet: and truth;
9. נֹצֵר חֶסֶד לָאֲלָפִים Notzer ḥesed laalafim: keeping kindness unto thousands;
10. נֹשֵׂא עָוֹן Noseh avon: forgiving iniquity;
11. וָפֶשַׁע VaFeshah: and transgression;
12. וְחַטָּאָה VeḤata’ah: and sin;
13. וְנַקֵּה VeNakeh: and pardoning.

 

A little more detailed:

– The LORD YAHUVEH! (ADONAI)–EL is merciful before a person sins! Even though aware that future evil lies dormant within him.

– The LORD YAHUVEH! (ADONAI)–EL is merciful after the sinner has gone astray.

– YAH (El)–a name that denotes power as ruler over nature and humankind, indicating that YAH’S Mercy sometimes surpasses even the degree indicated by this name.

– Compassionate (rahum)–YAH is filled with loving sympathy for human frailty does not put people into situations of extreme temptation, and eases the punishment of the guilty.

– Gracious (v’hanun)–YAH shows mercy even to those who do not deserve it consoling the afflicted and raising up the oppressed.

– Slow to anger (ereh apayim)–YAH gives the sinner ample time to reflect, improve, and repent.

– Abundant in Kindness (v’rav hesed)–YAH is kind toward those who lack personal merits, providing more gifts and blessings than they deserve; if one’s personal behavior is evenly balanced between virtue and sin, YAH tips the scales of justice toward the good.

– Truth (v’emet)–YAH never reneges on HIS WORD to reward those who serve HIM.

– Preserver of kindness for thousands of generations (notzeir hesed la-alafim)–YAH remembers the deeds of the righteous for the benefit of their less virtuous generations of offspring (thus we constantly invoke the merit of the Patriarchs).

– Forgiver of iniquity (nosei avon)–YAH forgives intentional sin resulting from an evil disposition, as long as the sinner repents.

– Forgiver of willful sin (pesha)–YAH allows even those who commit a sin with the malicious intent of rebelling against and angering HIM the opportunity to repent.

– Forgiver of error (v’hata’ah)–YAH forgives a sin committed out of carelessness, thoughtlessness, or apathy.

– Who cleanses (v’nakeh)–YAH is merciful, gracious, and forgiving, wiping away the sins of those who truly repent; however, if one does not repent, YAH does not cleanse.
